Comfort from Comfort
I was reading in 2Corinthians last night and this morning and found a really cool passage. 2Corinthians 1:3,4 says:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
I found that really encouraging ’cause one of my favorite things to be able to do is comfort someone who is in need. That passage tells me that the comfort I’m able to give them doesn’t even come from me but from God. That means I’m not responsible for it. God takes the burden of it, and He reaps the reward for it. I’m just the middleman, the faithful servant. And serving is what I get the most joy from.
Anyways, I thought that was pretty cool. It just reaffirms to me that God is still at work in my life. These times since I’ve left school have been very trying on my spiritual walk, and I’ve faced a lot of doubts lately. But this verse, among many others, help me to see exactly what God is doing around here, and it’s awesome.

this is a great site, but the written words here pale in comparison to actually talking with you….there is so much more inside you to give, continue to let God use you for great things, then give Him all the glory for all of it! Steve, you are the definition of a Great friend. “A friend loveth at all times” (possibly the word “all” here means “including at 3am) You always have time – and that is so encouraging – thanks 🙂
