The Stevish is always Greener…
Yes, it’s true! I have finally brought another WordPress theme to completion.
The theme is called Nine Shades of Green, and works on WordPress 2.0 as well as 1.5. So take a look around. As of the time of this post, I am using the theme as is, with no tweaks.
My point of pride on this theme is the CSS popout menu in the sidebar. That is definitely what took me the longest and what I learned the most from.
Please, feel free to test it out on your site, or simply rip it apart and use it to add on to your current theme. All of my work is released under the GPL, which means you are free to do with it what you wish. Heck, sell it if you want! Not that you’d make any money…
Those of you who are tuning in from my Xanga, head over to stevish.com and check it out! I’m quite proud of it. Please point out any errors or anything you’d change.

ooh, I feel special now. 🙂 Actually, you should thank Rachel because it was her idea in the first place.
Looks very nice by the way.

For those wondering, Lisa is the one who inspired the theme name, because her Xanga name is “Nine Shades of Purple.” But she is quick to say that my lovely Rachel was the one to come up with the name. So thanks to both of you.

sweeeeeeeeeet. Green is my fav color, so I’m really digging this skin. I do have one suggestion: could your pic be a link back to the main site? I’m in the Xanga habit (be it good or bad) of clicking on the pic to bring me back to the site home. But I have to say it again: this skin is sweet. No doubt it was worth the work on the popup menus. Makes it look professional… somthing a kid always likes to play with 🙂 lol

Yeah, John, that was on purpose. I noticed it was becoming a lot like Xanga, so I decided to forgo the pic=home thing. Hopefully this theme will help break a few people’s Xanga habits

[…] I updated wordpress with a new theme, based upon Nine Shades of Green, by Stevish. I really like its simple, yet very functional css popout menu, which reduces the sidebar to an absolute minimum. I was starting to get uncomfortable with the old themes’ sidebar, too long, cluttered and distracting. – The best part, I also started integrating my portfolio-page seamlessly into my Blog i.e. WordPress! I haven’t been to happy about the to piles of code and stylesheets in my root directory, esspecially because I wasn’t able to get them to fit seamlessly. […]

I love nine shades – clean and simple.
Any plans of making it widget compatible?
