The Day After…

Ok, so very few of you are going to care, but I just wrote a counter script from scratch, and I’m pretty proud of it. In my sidebar, from now until probably the end of my honeymoon (or later), there is some text that says “I’m getting married the day after the day after the….. after tomorrow!” That’s my counter.

See, every day, one of those “day after”s falls off, untill it says “I’m getting married tomorrow!” then “I’m getting married TODAY!” then “I got married yesterday”… “The day before yesterday” and so on and so forth.

If any of you geeks want to look at the script, it’s at rach.stevish.com/dayafter.php. Just right-click and save-as.

You’ll notice that it’s pretty specific to my situation. It uses the day number and the year number, so it will only work for ’06 and ’07, and to set it for a different date, you’d have to figure out which day of the year that particular date is. Basically, it’ll take some hacking for anyone else to use it, but I was just building it for me, so there :P. I just wanted all my geek friends (Ok, the two or three of you) to see it. That’s all.

Well, good news and bad news. Your site is back, but the ‘Day After’ script is just putting out errors. Unless you took the code out…

Wow… 500 Internal Server errors when trying to access your script. Not bad. 😛
